Faux-Hawk Girl

Hello everyone! I just looked at the date on my calendar and I can't believe we are almost halfway through 2011! This week, the design team is tackling the challenge of nature plus a charm.

When my daughter, Harper, was a newborn, she had quite a bit of hair. At about 3 or 4 months it started falling out and I would take her around town and people would remark about how she had a mohawk. Some people even asked us if we cut it that way. No, I did not cut my three month old baby girl's hair into a faux-hawk!

I used My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup and Fine and Dandy on this layout. I did a little abstract representation of nature, but used the Fine and Dandy chipboard pieces to create a border of nature elements. I drew a stem and leaves under the round chipboard pieces and then poked holes with a paper piercer and stitched them with embroidery floss.

The "girl" in the title is from the Fine and Dandy chipboard. The charm is from my stash. And of course I had to use my favorite adhesive, my pink ATG

I look forward to seeing everyone's "nature" projects. Have a wonderful weekend!
