Has in stock? When I saw Fairy Nice Flower I just had to get it and after coloring it up with my Copics, Stickles and Flower Soft I really love it.  The Sunflowers colors work very well with the 6x6 Paper Pad Summer Days from Echo Park.

I cut my mats out with Spellbinders and Inked the edges with Colorbox Ink. I finally got a chance to play a little bit with the new Seam Binding and it's even more prettier in person and there are so many colors to choose from. I also added some pretty Teal Pearls. I added my heart charms and sunflower from my stash.

Gini's sketch - take 1

Hello Beary Scrap Fans! It's Gini here today and just wanted to remind you of the new sketch challenge, that started a few days ago. You have until the 14th of this month to play along (and it's a brilliant sketch, so why not have a go at it!)



I was so thrilled when I saw how cool the Basic Grey Pyrus paper looked with my Decadent Pear stamp set from Unity. For my pears, I stamped them using Black Memento ink onto some of the DP, but then colored in the details with a Sakura glaze pen. My flowers were colored with Maya Mist and I added Flower Soft for the buds. I love the vintage feel of this card!

Brrrrr! The Snow is Falling!

Hi! It's Gini and since I have started seeing a little snow falling outside my window, I was inspired to make this card. I really love the sketch challenge we have going on now -it is so versatile, I'm sure I will be using it again. I got to play with some of the new goodies in the store for this card - Bo Bunny's Midnight Frost and Magnolia "MERRY LITTLE CHRISTMAS" Tilda with Fir Tree. I think Midnight Frost is proving quite popular among the DT!

I cut my snowflakes out using Spellbinders and embellished them with a little bling. For my Tilda, I colored her with copics, added stickles to her coat, puff paint for her fur, and ultra fine Flower Soft in Pine over the tree. I love how this created lots of dimension.

Autumn Inspirations

Hi, it's Gini. Are your fingers inky? If they are not, what are you waiting for? At the Beary Scrap we still have our Misting Challenge going on until October 31st - We just want to see your projects that you have misted on. This week, not only are the Beary Scrappy Gals misting on our projects, we are also being inspired by this gorgeous fall photo. Don't you just love those colors?





I used papers from Pink Paislee's 365 Degrees line. My stamps are from Heartfelt Creations. I colored the background image with copics, and masked off the image and spritzed my sky with Glimmer Mist. Then I added Flower Soft ultrafine in Sage and the new Pine Green for my grasses. I really like the ultrafine for giving sharp detail. My pumpkins are sitting on a bed of Artglitter's Earth Elements (Morroco).


To color my pumpkins, I spritzed some white cardstock with Glimmer Mist in Jack-O-Lantern and Rustic Red. I love combining colors and seeing the results.



After I colored the paper and allowed it to dry, I stamped my pumpkins and cut them using the Spellbinders Nestabilities pumpkins. I added layers of foam dots to pop them up from the background. Finally, I added my ribbon bow, which I drug through some GM that I had sprayed on my workmat. (And yes, I do have a whole section of my studio devoted to my spritzing area). I have to admit, I was cheap for along time and would not by the large Tattered Angels misting mat (it's a whopping 2 x 3 feet!), but once I bit the bullet and bought one, I love it! Often times, I will spray directly on the mat and then lay screens or papers or ribbons on that - It opens so many doors for new techniques!


So this is a picture of my spritzing area (please ignore the mess to the sides - Isn't a messy work area supposed to be the sign of a genius?!!!) In my studio, I have a hot tub that I rarely use - but it is the perfect area to set up work stations. I have my misting area, my area for cutting and embossing with my cuttlebug, and my paper cutting area. I leave these things out all of the time, because I use them so much. Oh, and don't fret, that's not anywhere near all of my Glimmer Mist... it's just what I played with today!

Waiting For Santa, Vintage Style

Hello hello! I hope you had a great weekend. the Husband and I took a little road trip on Saturday and hid indoors Sunday for the first rainy day in ages. It was nice to wake up to the sound of soft rain - especially since it was falling straight down and not into any of the windows left open overnight. Temps were in the 50's, so after Finnegan went out for a quick wee, we all snuggled tighter under the covers and slept in. I love the cooler temps paired with cozy blankies and warm snuggly bodies in the bed... have I mentioned that our dog sleeps under the covers? He curls his 95lbs up at our feet every night. It's cute!

It's Monday again, which brings a new project from me. *waves* This week we will also see a new Beary Sweet Challenge starting on Wednesday, so the design team is using that theme to inspire you. This week we decided to go down my favorite path:

Vintage

Ok, so *I* decided to take the design team down this path kicking and screaming. I had to duck from a few well-thrown old shoes... but I'm still excited to see what they come up with when truly challenged!

Here's another in my Vintage Christmas Series. Haha! I just made that up as an excuse for my 2 Christmas cards in a row here at TBS. I'm on a mission to avoid the Great Frenzy of 2009, which had me scrambling and working through the night weeks before a craft show. Oh, it was awful even for this procrastinator.

So, about this card: I used the yummy delicious My Minds Eye Laundry Line/Flirty Collection. The design is called "Pretty Coat" and boy is it fabulous! The tag in the upper left corner is also MME and available at the store. On my vintage postcard image I've added white Flower Soft for snow and as decoration on Santa's coat. Star Dust Stickles found its way on the little girl's coat and the star, and Frosted Ice around the edges.

The MME tag was trimmed and crushed into a ball, then the edges and random creased were inked up before it got a Pearl Glimmer Mist squirt. The flowers were white before being misted with Vanilla Glimmer Mist. I'm really pleased with the subtle color!

Cream and Gold and...Rosy Red

Hi, and happy Saturday! I hope that you have enjoyed our Gold and Cream plus One theme this week at the Beary Scrap. Today is my last day posting on Saturdays - from here on out, I will be sharing some Beary Goodness on Tuesdays.

As you can see, I chose to use rosy-red for my other color. I used papers from My Mind's Eye -Laundry Line. If you don't have any MME papers, now is a great time to stock up. Not only does Kimm have some great sales going on, but a little birdie told me there's going to be a contest soon (but you have to use MME papers). Also, the new lines are coming in - Alphabet Soup,
Holly Jolly, and Lost and Found (my favorite!). The Cherry Blossom stamp is from Flourishes. I added Ivory Flower Soft to the centers, and then added a tiny gold bead in the center. I used Glimmer Mist to help distress the edges and and that glimmer that I love.

It's a Sketch, but which one?

Do you ever feel like you are running around like a chicken with it's head cut off? This has been one more crazy week! I finally got my computer back this afternoon, but after I got it all hooked up, I realized that I don't have a clue where my digital camera is! So, this is the scanned version of my card for the Beary Scrap. As soon as I figure out what I did with my camera, I'll add a better pic for you!

We have a great sketch to play with this week - and we would love for you to play along with us! Now please don't look at my sketch for the inspiration! I apparently printed out the wrong sketch to use (I told you - it's been crazy!) I used some Cosmo Cricket papers (Jack's World). I love how great they looked with this little topper from Flower Soft. These toppers are a real time saver. They are printed designs (you get several of each design,) so you can cut them out and layer them rather quickly. We don't have this particular one in stock, but we have some others that are just adorable. I especially like all of the Hedgerow Friends series. I added some of the Citrus Crush Ultra Fine FS for the pillows and rug. The velvet flower and leaves are from Prima.

I am off all of next week, so hopefully, I can get my studio back in order!
