The Sun Will Come Out Tomorrow

Hi there, It's Brenda again. I hope that wherever you are, warmer weather is starting to find you. I know here it has been hot, so I'm sure that means the weather is nice somewhere, right?

On this day last year, I was due with my daughter. And boy was I ever ready for her to come out (she ended up being 8 days late)! Since she was born, I have taken monthly pictures of her with these onesie stickers that have her age in months on them. She is generally pretty good-natured, but I always seem to try to take pictures when she is hungry or tired or both. Inevitably, each month I get a good crying picture, and this one was too cute not too scrap. She really does have the best pout.

For this week, I did the sketch with the added challenge of using pastels. What better way to use pastels than to use Echo Park's Springtime line? For the two background rectangles, I stitched in alternating color threads to imitate a rainbow. Then I filled in the rectangles with various-sized punched circles (.75", 1", and 1.5").

I then used the stickers from the Springtime line as my journaling space and little accents. The brad in the middle of the purple flower is from My Mind's Eye Lost and Found Madison collection.

For the clouds and sun, I put my background cardstock (Bazzill) through my die cutter and then put two pieces of paper from the My Mind's Eye Alphabet Soup Boy collection to accent the cut out shapes. This could just as easily be done with paper punches. Then I stitched around the cut outs to further accent them. On the sun's rays, I put some Glossy Accents to give it a little depth and extra something.

For the title, I used the alphas that come with the Springtime line. Aren't they adorable? And so versatile, too!

Extra supplies used:

Thank you all so much for looking. Please do join us in this sketch challenge! You have until 11:59 pm on April 14th to upload your projects. I look forward to being inspired by you all.

Wowzers! I love how you applied the layers in this layout Brenda. Just beautiful. The added stitching really adds a pop to the entire layout. Very nicely put together.
