Our New Beary Sweet Sketch & Challenge

Welcome to April and our brand new Sketch Challenge! I am so excited to be able to be the first to show you my take on the sketch (I have never been the first one up before!)-- this was such a fun and simple sketch, I just let my imagination go and this is what I came up with:

I used the "Once Upon a Springtime Line" from Graphic 45-- these papers are absolutely beautiful! I used several different sheets of the patterned paper plus some of the diecuts. I used one of the ready made framesto highlight my large photo of my daughter after she had lost a tooth and then cut up some of the other pages to add flowers and a fairy to my tooth fairy page.

I popped up the images I cut out with foam squares and then added lots of Stickles for some shine!

It was wonderful to see all the great entries for our March challenges, I hope to see lots for April too so be sure to enter your take on the sketch before April 14 at 11:50 EST. Good Luck!

Pretty Flowers for Spring

Im still waiting for the warm weather that is susposed to come with spring but my cute little Pansie Piggy is all ready to to share some flowers to help you enjoy the warm weather.
Did you get a chance to pick up one of the New Patterns from
Well Kimm can tell you that I couldn't wait to get my hands on Pansie, I just love this little piggy. If you notice that Pansie comes sitting well if you have the Tear Bear pattern to you can just use the legs to make her stand.
This cute little piggy was made with Mulberry Paper and inked with Colorbox Inks. My background paper is one of the new 6x6 paper pads from Prima
Fairy Flora
now in stock. I added some German Glass Glitter to the boarder of my card that was cut out with one of the new Spellbinders Grand Nestabilities.  I added a pretty ribbon from my stash around the Mulberry Calla Lillies.
Thanks for looking.

Ribbons and Spring!

Hi, it's Gini. While I've been enjoying some nice spring weather, it sounds like many of you are still stuck in winter. Why not bring a little spring cheer into your house by playing along with our current challenge? You only have a few more days to enter, if you haven't done so yet. To wrap up the last few days of the challenge, we decided to add some ribbons to the mix.

Kimm has gotten so many wonderful new 6 x 6 designer pads in - and today, I have used Prima's Annalee collection. I added ribbons from May Arts and My Mind's eye. My stamp is from Heartfelt Creations, and I cut the frame using Spellbinder's Labels 2. The image was colored with Copics, and then I painted a light coat of Stickles over that.

Our new challenge will be posted on Friday, so mark your calendars to come back and play!

Spring Fairy Tag

Hi there and happy spring! Depending on where you live you might have gotten a surprise spring snow over the weekend. What was up with that? Sunday morning we woke up to a couple of inches of the fluffy white stuff, but it was all gone by the afternoon.

This week the design team is showing more projects using our current Spring challenge theme. We've added ribbons to our projects for a little extra oomph. At the end of the week Senior DT Jamie and Brenda, our very first Guest Designer will introduce our April sketch challenge. Yay!

I made a quick tag using our new Tim Holtz dies: Tag & Bookplates and Tattered Florals, and Graphic 45's "Once Upon A Springtime".

This really was a quick project - it took just about 2 hours, which is record time for me! The flower was made by cutting the Tattered Floral shapes twice and offsetting each size so the space between the petals doesn't show. I cut the largest flower down by about a half-inch. The petals are rounded with the awesome Empressor tool. To the edges I randomly added a combination of Star Dust and Crystal Stickles with my fingertip.

The little fairy tag was pulled from the Once Upon A Springtime "Tags" die-cut 12x12 page - loads of cool embellishments on that sheet! I cut an extra wing and added a little Stickles to the wing, crown and sceptre for a little bling.

Glittery Easter Treats

Happy Friday everyone! Welcome to the final day of our Easter and German Glitter Glass week. I hope you have enjoyed everyone's sparkly projects and now you are ready to go out and add some bling of your own!

My project for the week is some Easter favor boxes filled with candy (chocolate, of course!) and decorated with Graphic 45's Once Upon a Springtime papers and some vintage Easter images.

These were so fun for me to make. I got these cute boxes at a local wedding supply store and simply folded them up and filled them with candy. Then I cut an egg shape from some of the Graphic 45 papers-- it was hard to decide which ones to use they are all so gorgeous! My Easter images are free for use in craft projects, you can find them here-- I just downloaded them, sized them to what I wanted and printed them out.

I added Pale Green Flowersoft to each image for the grass and then also used the Flowersoft glue to apply my Pink and Yellow Green German Glitter Glass. This stuff is seriously so cool, I have never seen anything like it before! I am not a big fan of good old-fashioned plastic glitter, its just so darn messy and never quite looks the way I want it to. However, this stuff is so pretty, it is in a completely different world than that old plastic glitter. It was very easy to use and I love the way it shines.

I edged my images by putting a thin line of glue all the way around and then dipping it in a shallow dish of the glitter. I also added some of the details in the paper such as flowers and a butterfly.

Other details include pearls, mulberry roses spritzed with Pearl Tattered Angels Glimmer Mist, lace and a bow on top.

Remember, you still have a few more days to enter our current challenge and show us your Spring projects! This will enter you in the drawing for our 5 fabulous Birthday Presents so definitely enter this challenge. You also a few more days to enter my blog candy in celebration of my own blog birthday so hop on over for your chance to win!

Springtime With A Little Shine

Well now that we have started Spring what a better way to enjoy it than with.....SNOW....(hit the brakes) yes snow were expected to get any were to 1" to 4" of snow in my area of Connecticut. But I'm not going to let a little more snow loose my sparkle. I'm going to add some German Glass Glitter and let it shine.

I added some German Glass Glitter to the oval parts of my Spellbinders Beaded Ovals Die. What do you think of the new Tattered Teddy coming soon to The Beary Scrap Family. He's so cute. He was made with Mulberry Paper and inked with Colorbox Ink. My background paper is from the Springtime Collection from Echo Park. I have used flowers from Prima the Fleurs de Prima and a Butterfly also from Prima from my stash. Don't forget we are still having our Birthday Celebration going on and make sure you enter your card ---HERE---
Thanks for looking.

Sparkly Spring

Hi, it's Gini and I am so thrilled that spring is finally here. I keep seeing new flowers blooming each and every day - and this makes me very happy! So, I think it seems appropriate that this week the Beary Scrappy gals are not only sharing with you spring creations, but we've also all used the gorgeous German Glass glitter.

I'm so sorry that you can't see this card in person, because the glitter is so chunky and shiny. It really adds such a vintage touch. I used Walk in the Park papers from Echo Park - they looked so great with the glitters. My stamp is from JustRite Stamps and I colored it with Copic markers.

If spring has not sprung in your neck of the woods, don't fret. I'm sure it's headed your way soon. Perhaps making a spring project for our current Birthday Bash challenge would bring it your way.
