Farewell But Not Forgotten

It truly is bittersweet to be writing this post today as it's my last for Beary Scrap.  I'm the new kid on the block but have admired my fellow design team members for so long.  This is such a talented group of ladies and I feel so blessed to have been a part of it, even if it was brief.  Kimm I wish you so much success in your future ventures.  I know your sassy personality and fun spirit will take you far.  We really are so much alike in so many ways and I'll miss our goofy emails.  Patricia you are so sweet and I know you will rule the world with your tear animals...they are adorable and you certainly have mastered them.  Susan thank you so much for taking time when I bombarded you with questions.   You truly are a joy to work with.  Jamie you are just pure honey and so creative.  Last but not least in any regards, is my amazing sister Gini.  It's hard to get to really know someone in blog land but let me just share with you how wonderful she really is.  Her work is amazing and she is always coming up with inventive ideas, she always has my back and she is my number one cheerleader.  I've loved working with you Gini and blog fans don't worry you'll be seeing a lot more of us in the future.  I know everyone on the team will continue on with raging success as you all are so talented and I look forward to watching your journey. 

Now onto my Best Best last project...Today I have a treat box I made using the My Mind's Eye / Lost and Found Christmas Paper.  I had it full of candy and for some reason in my house with two little boys the candy has seemed to vanish...go figure. 

I hope everyone has a blessed time today with your family and remember everything you have to be thankful for.  I heard a little pharse if you only had tomorrow what you thanked God for today...what would you have?  It certainly makes you think.  I know my list would be too long to name, but one of them would be having the chance to serve on the Beary Scrap Design Team.

A Beautiful View

I love to show how versatile paper collections can be and this is one that really is...For the Record form Echo Park.  I double up on the doubles...using the double bird stamp and also the double pins.  So double, double, double for me, LOL.

Boo To You

Have you seen the new collection from My Mind's Eye/ Mischievous.  I think it's got such a vintage feel.

The little puppy is attached to the pumpkin with a small amount of twine...so he can be pulled up to wish you a Boo but he can't get lost from the card.  Nothing sadder than a lost puppy, LOL.

Once you untie the string you'll find a Halloween wish inside.  Love, love, love this card.

Bling In The Season

How could you not love My Mind's Eye new Lost and Found Christmas paper collection?...YUM with all that glitter.   I love it!!!  I'm also loving our current challenge, Anything Goes.  So basically all you have to do is something beautiful that shows your creativity and enter it in our challenge, where you might just win a $20 shopping spree.

Fall Leaves with Glitter

This is a tag I created for our current challenge...FALL. I had the idea to cover the leaves with glitter and I love the way it turned out. The paper is from the Authentique Glowing Paper Pad. It's chocked full of all those orange, brown and black colors that are all around this time of year. The base tag was colored with Distress Ink so I could match up my colors as I wanted. The kocha/brown seam binding ribbon added the final touch to my tag.

Fall into Sunflowers

This weeks card was created using Authentiques Blissful Collection. Colors a little to bright for Fall colors...just ink your paper up with some Distress Ink and you'll be good to go.

The handmade sunflower was made using Spellbinders dies, tools, glue and some patience. Granted it took a little while to do, but really it's so stunning you only need one to set your card off, so what's a little time, right? Oh and remember if it can fit in an envelope...it ain't a card, LOL.

Ushering in the Season...FALL

We have a new challenge and you're going to love it....HAPPY FALL Y'ALL! I adore the season of fall, it's my favorite. To me it's like everything is getting ready to go to sleep for the winter. The colors are so deep and rich and hearty...love, love, love. Can't you just smell the crisp air, the apples baking in the oven with a sprinkle of sugar and cinnamon and see the leaves starting to fall to the ground. How could that not give you warm fuzzies all over.

I used the new Authentique 6 x 6 paper pads (Glowing and Blissful) for this card. I inked it up with a bit of distress ink to give a bit more aged look and to blend with the Fall colors I was reaching for. That's the nice thing about distress ink...if your paper isn't quite what you want it to be in color or tone...ink that thing up.

Girly Card? NOT!

This week the design team wanted to take the challenge sketch but add a little twist, try to do the sketch and not make the card girly.  I really didn't think it was a big deal until I started trying to make the card and realized, yeap, I'm girly. 

I used Echo Parks "For The Record"...which was my attempt at using non-girly paper, LOL.  I'm not sure if I pulled it off 100% or not, my female personality comes through no matter if I want it to or not.

New Challenge Sketch

Happy September Everybody...can you believe it's already here?  Wow does time fly.  With it being the start of the month a new challenge is here.  Our newest challenge is a sketch and you'll love your finished project with it for sure.

This week I wanted to give the Tear Bears a shot.  Granted I'm not Patricia...who so totally rocks out Tear Bears, but I think I did a good job with my little Elephant.  I used the Springtime Echo Park paper wanting that last little bit of poppy colors before the fall colors move in.

Bingo Box

Happy Thursday everyone! Our bingo challenge is still going on so this week I picked Distress, Glitter and Lace.  The base for my box uses Echo Parks newest collection Victoria Gardens. I adore the versatility of the sheet music paper...perfect for this project.

The distressing was done several ways...first I inked the edges of the box with Distress Ink...then I stamped the leaves with Distress Crackle Paint.  After the paint was dried I re stamped with Memento Ink.

The flowers are from Prima and I added Stickles Glitter to the edges for a little extra pop.

 Finally for the lace, I created the lace handmade flower.  It was so easy.  I just took a scrap piece of lace and formed it into a circle and applied it to some Scor-Pal Tape...have to say if you want strong tape, goods lands it's great.

So that wraps up my Bingo Box....It's ready to pop a gift card or a small trinket inside and pass it along to a friend.

Better With You

I'll be honest, I'm the world's biggest sap.  When I finished this card all of could think of was my family...my boys, sister, brother-in-law, and parents.  My life is what it is because of them and I couldn't have picked any better than what God has blessed me with.  Really the sentiment says it all...my life is better with you in it...and that goes out to each of my family members. 

The colors are my favorite as I'm sure you've noticed. I love to use pink and green ....A LOT.  Knowing that you can only guess how thrilled I was when I opened up my goodie box and saw the new Echo Park Victoria Garden Kit. 

B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L

I have to tell you this is one you'll want to be sure to get the whole kit.  The papers are so vibrant and pretty and I love the sticker sheets that come with the kit.  So for the tic-tac-toe current challenge I did the flower, charm, and dry embossing...

What's Your Take?

Let me tell you, I'm am one of those girls who always follows the rules, so when I see a sketch it's hard for me to think outside of the box..meaning if it's in a square shape on the sketch...my project will be square.  Sometimes I'll look at other challenges and see designers interpretations of them and think ....REALLY?  but honestly I love there take and to see how they creatively saw it.  I'm not sure what took over this week with me but I actually thought outside of the box on the sketch and this is my take of it.  I can still see the base there and hope you can too, but man I love the shapes in this project. 

I used Pink Paislee's Butterfly Garden collection for this card.  With the clear butterfly stickers I made sure to bend up their wings to give the illusion of flight and to add more dimension.  You know me...if it fits in an envelope it's not finished.  LOL

Hi Everybody...it's Lori and today I wanted to share my take on the current sketch challenge.  Summer fun is what this card is all about and I really had fun making it. I adore the new collection from Echo Park/ Country Drive.  It's so cheery, you just can't help but smile when you work with it.

For the cloud background I used the chipboard cloud from the Country Drive collection and sponged ink around the cloud...moved the cloud and repeated several times to make a whole sky background.  For the grass..I just doodled.  I really liked the finish look.

I matched some cardstock with my paper collection and made these rosette flowers to pull it all together.

Black and White With A Splash

Hi Everybody...it's Lori here with my version of the current challenge * drawing inspiration from your closet.  I have to admit most of the time you'll find me in black and white with a splash of color...so this card seemed to fit me to a T and looks like majority of my closet :)

I created the handmade flower and the card using Echo Park's "For the Record". This is a super cute collection that is so versatile.  The red pearls are from KaiserCraft Basics and they really add a nice detail.  It's the little things that can really bump a card to a mini work of art. Here is the best part...there are a ton of KaiserCraft Basic rhinestones and pearls in the bargain bin right now for just $1...so stock up.

For the leaf flourish I used a sticker from For The Record and applied it to a sheet of cardstock and then cut it out so there was a pop of color around the edge. Creating that border really made it stand out. 

I can't wait to see what next weeks challenge will be and share my version of it with you.  Have a great week until next Thursday.

Party !!!!

Hi Everyone.  Today I have created a fun card that was inspired by something in my closet.  Wondering what that might be...it's the Polka Dots.  I adore polka dots and have so many shirts, hand bows and even shoes with polka dots.

The card was created using Echo Park's Summer Days.  This collection is so bright and cheery for the summer season.  All I kept singing while I made this card was "Yellow Polka Dot Bikini"...which is funny as I can't image wearing one of those, LOL.  I used the coordinating chipboard from Summer Days and took one of the chipboard flowers, punched a larger hole in the center to be able to run the ribbon through and close the card. 

I really had fun with the challenge this week, it was so out of the box.  Honestly it goes to show you can get inspiration for your work from anywhere...even your closet.
