Last Day of Free For Fall!!

Happy Friday to all you fabulous paper crafters out there! Thank you so much for playing with us at The Beary Scrap during the last challenge-- you have outdone yourselves with all the incredible entries and I have had so much fun visiting your blogs to look at your creative ideas. You have one more day to enter to our Free for Fall challenge so link up your project by clicking here for your chance to win!

Here is a teeny peek at my second Free for Fall project:

For a long time I have been wanting to make a layout with the chorus from a Trace Adkins song that I absolutely love-- it makes me tear up every time I hear it, which is usually in my car full of 3 busy kids as I'm driving them from one activity to the next and the words really hit home for me:

You're gonna miss this
You're gonna want this back
You're gonna wish these days hadn't gone by so fast
These are some good times
So take a good look around
You may not know it now
But you're gonna miss this

And so I finally decided this was the week and I made my layout on this song and our crazy busy life. Here is my two page layout, with pictures of kids' various activities this week.

A closer look at page 1, this page has the song lyrics down the right hand side along with a picture I took in my car looking at my kids in the rear view mirrow-- I saw this idea somewhere in a scrapbook magazine once and thought what a cool picture, as I so often see my kids that way as I peek in the mirror to see what chaos may be happening in the back seat!

Here is the second page, down the left hand side of this page is a list of all the things our days currently include (like school, homework, swim team, football practice, piano lessons, etc) and my feelings about the craziness:

Thanks for letting me share this layout with you, even if it's a little bit sappy! And don't forget to show us your projects!

Fall Leaves with Glitter

This is a tag I created for our current challenge...FALL. I had the idea to cover the leaves with glitter and I love the way it turned out. The paper is from the Authentique Glowing Paper Pad. It's chocked full of all those orange, brown and black colors that are all around this time of year. The base tag was colored with Distress Ink so I could match up my colors as I wanted. The kocha/brown seam binding ribbon added the final touch to my tag.

So are you inspired to make a Fall card? I hope so...and be sure to link it up to our Beary Scrap challenge here...you could win a $20 gift certificate, so why not?
Hugs,

Send Fall My Way!

Hi! It's Gini back with another round of tic-tac-toe. For today's card, I have played it across the top row with Lace, Distress and Glitter. I am so excited that fall is just around the corner, so to get ready for the season, I made a pumpkin card. I'm in love with the Authentique papers, and used the Glowing Collection. It's a really gorgeous set of papers. My pumpkin is a die-cut from CottageCutz' Spooky Treats. After I cut it out, I shaded the edges and the details with Distress Ink. Next, I added a thick layer of Crystal Lacquer. I sprinkled a little glitter on the pumpkin, while it was still wet. I used Scor-tape to add my lace (it's the easiest, non-messy way to add your ribbons and lace!)

So how about you....? Are you longing for fall to get here, or are you clinging to the last bit of summer?

Tic Tac Toe

We just started a new challenge at the Beary Scrap - a tic-tac-toe challenge, where you get to chose 3 embellishments/techniques in a row - to use on your project. For my card, I used the lace (although it's paper lace), emboss and a pearl. I am absolutely smitten with the new Authentique paper that I used for this card! This is from the Blissful pad. I think the colors are just so sophisticated and gorgeous! And there is such a great mix of pattern - it really makes for a very interesting project.

I know you will have fun playing along with us! You have until the end of the month to get your entry in.
